Partner commitment

Lessor Charter and General Terms

This charter sets out the commitments expected from every professional lessor offering vehicles through Ijaroc.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

01

Scope and acceptance

By submitting a partner profile, the lessor confirms that they are acting professionally, are authorised to rent vehicles in Morocco and accept this charter.

These commitments apply to the partner profile, every listed vehicle and every booking received through the platform.

The English version is the reference version in the event of a discrepancy between translations, subject to applicable mandatory rules.

02

Accurate partner information

The lessor must provide information and documents that are complete, accurate, current and legally valid.

  • Keep identity, company, contact and banking information up to date.
  • Provide readable, authentic documents and promptly replace any expired document.
  • Notify Ijaroc without delay of any change affecting the right to operate or receive payments.

Supporting documents submitted by Lessors to IJAROC to verify their account or vehicles, including the commercial register, the legal representative’s identity document and vehicle registration documents, are not published on the Platform. Within IJAROC, access is restricted to authorized personnel who need them for verification and case handling. Any legally justified disclosure to an authority remains subject to the applicable checks and limits.

The Lessor may request deletion of their data and supporting documents by contacting [email protected], WhatsApp support or the contact form. Deleting all data or documents associated with their account also closes it. The procedure, retention periods and exceptions, including the exclusion list retained after deletion of a banned account, are described in IJAROC’s Privacy Policy, along with the rights to challenge the processing and decisions.

03

Vehicles, safety and insurance

Every listed vehicle must comply with the Moroccan regulations applicable to its road use and rental, be safe and maintained, and have compliant documents. The Lessor is responsible for meeting these obligations.

  • Publish accurate photos, characteristics, documents, prices and equipment.
  • Maintain valid registration, inspection and insurance appropriate for rental activity.
  • Do not offer a vehicle that is unsafe, unavailable, unlawfully operated or materially different from its listing.
  • Report any incident or change that may affect the vehicle’s safety or eligibility.

IJAROC does not provide insurance and does not request an insurance certificate to approve a listing. IJAROC’s documentary approval of a partner or vehicle does not constitute verification or certification of its insurance coverage. The Lessor remains responsible for the vehicle’s insurance; IJAROC’s own obligations under the law continue to apply.

The Lessor must take out and maintain valid motor insurance suitable for vehicle rental throughout the rental period, including the civil liability cover mandatory in Morocco. The Lessor ensures that authorized drivers meet the coverage conditions and informs the Customer of the applicable coverage, exclusions and insurance excesses before the Customer commits. At handover, the Lessor gives the Customer a valid insurance certificate corresponding to the vehicle. The Customer’s document checks do not release the Lessor from these obligations.

04

Availability and bookings

The lessor is responsible for keeping availability and commercial information reliable so customers can book with confidence.

  • Block periods booked outside Ijaroc and update availability without delay.
  • Honour confirmed prices, options, pick-up details and booking conditions. Mileage is unlimited for all Customers throughout the rental. The Lessor may not impose a mileage limit or charge any supplement based on the number of kilometres driven during the rental.
  • Respond to booking requests and operational messages within the platform’s required timeframes. Once the Lessor accepts the booking, the Customer receives the agency name, the Lessor’s name and their WhatsApp number in the confirmation email to arrange vehicle handover and return directly with them.
  • Never divert an initial Ijaroc booking off the platform or request an undeclared payment. Extensions agreed and paid for directly with the Lessor are permitted under the procedure set out in section 5. Any price adjustments for an accepted replacement may also be settled directly between the Customer and the Lessor, provided the arrangements in section 5 are followed and the written agreement is sent to IJAROC.

Any cancellation notified before the scheduled rental start date and time entitles the Customer to a full refund of the amounts paid for the booking, whether the Customer or the Lessor cancels. This also applies to cancellation because no security deposit was obtained. This full refund also applies if the Customer cancels after the scheduled start time or does not attend, provided the vehicle has not been handed over to them.

Search results only offer vehicles from Lessors whose agency is located in the selected pickup city, including when return is scheduled in another city. If the booking is cancelled before the vehicle is handed over to the Customer, no costs for delivering the vehicle to the pickup location may be deducted from the booking price or the security deposit.

Online cancellation of a confirmed booking is available in the Customer and Lessor spaces when more than 24 hours remain before departure. During the final 24 hours before departure, direct cancellation is no longer available: the Customer or Lessor contacts IJAROC through the “Any problem? Contact us” button, the contact form or by email at [email protected], quoting the booking reference. IJAROC handles the cancellation request and refund under these terms.

If the Lessor cancels before the scheduled start date and time, the Customer receives a full refund. Choosing a return city different from the pickup city does not change this rule.

The Lessor may not charge the Customer vehicle delivery costs on the grounds that they had prepared or started a journey before cancellation, as long as the vehicle has not been handed over to the Customer. IJAROC provides the Customer with a refund breakdown. The Customer may complain to IJAROC and retains their legal remedies.

Amounts actually collected are refunded under the rules above. For any refund of the rental price approved by IJAROC, including following a breakdown or accident, IJAROC submits the refund instruction to Stripe or PayPal, depending on the provider used for payment, within 5 working days of that approval. Working days mean Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in France. This period concerns initiating the refund; when the funds actually become available then depends on the payment provider and the Customer’s bank. It does not extend any mandatory refund deadline under applicable law. If payment has only been authorized without being charged, the authorization is released under the rules applicable to that operation. The 5-working-day period does not apply to the release of the security deposit, which remains governed by the specific deadlines set out in these terms.

After the vehicle has been handed over, an early return for personal convenience does not entitle the Customer to a refund for unused days, subject to the Customer’s rights under applicable law.

If a breakdown or accident prevents the rental from continuing, the Customer contacts the Lessor to agree on a replacement vehicle or another solution. If the Lessor cannot offer a replacement vehicle that meets the agreed conditions and allows the rental to continue, IJAROC refunds the remaining unused days starting from the day after the incident. The day of the incident, on which use has already begun, is not refunded under this policy.

This refund also applies if the Customer is responsible for the accident. Refunding the rental price is separate from handling damage and the security deposit. Any claim against a deposit managed by IJAROC remains subject to the conditions, supporting evidence and deadlines of the claims procedure in these terms. These provisions do not limit the Customer’s rights under applicable law or their remedies for a breach of obligations by the Lessor or IJAROC.

If the booked vehicle cannot be provided at the initial handover and the Customer has not expressly accepted a replacement in writing, the booking is cancelled and the Customer receives a full refund of the amounts paid for that booking. No delivery travel costs may be retained in this case, regardless of the agency’s or pickup city, even if the Lessor has already started the journey or the scheduled start time has passed. The Lessor bears the travel costs. The refund follows the initiation deadline set out in these terms; any payment authorization that has not been charged is released.

If, before the initial handover, a vehicle document required for its road use or rental is missing, expired, inconsistent with the vehicle presented or non-compliant with applicable Moroccan regulations, the Customer may refuse the vehicle and cancel the booking without charges. This includes the vehicle registration certificate, insurance certificate and roadworthiness inspection document where required. The Customer reports the issue to the Lessor and IJAROC and provides the evidence available to them. IJAROC refunds all amounts paid for the booking and requests release of the deposit it manages. No cancellation or delivery travel costs may be retained, even if the Lessor has already started the journey or the scheduled start time has passed, as long as the vehicle has not been handed over to the Customer. The Lessor bears the travel costs. The refund follows the initiation deadline set out in these terms; any payment authorization that has not been charged is released. The actual availability of released funds depends on the payment provider and the Customer’s bank. The Customer’s mandatory rights remain unaffected.

If an issue with the vehicle’s documents is discovered after handover and prevents the rental from lawfully continuing, the Customer informs the Lessor and IJAROC without delay. The Customer contacts the Lessor to seek rectification or a compliant replacement vehicle that allows the rental to continue. If no compliant solution allows it to continue, IJAROC refunds only the remaining unused days from the day after the rental had to be interrupted, following the same rule as for a breakdown or accident. The day of the interruption, which has already begun, is not refunded under this policy. The refund is initiated within the deadline set out in these terms. Damage and deposit handling remain separate and follow the applicable rules. These provisions do not limit the Customer’s mandatory rights or remedies for a breach by the Lessor or IJAROC.

05

Customer service and rental handover

The lessor must treat customers fairly and provide the booked service professionally from handover to return.

  • Before handing over the vehicle, the Lessor is responsible for checking the identity of the Customer and every authorized driver, the validity of their licence, the vehicle category it covers and their entitlement to drive in Morocco during the rental, under applicable rules and the conditions disclosed before booking. These checks are performed directly in person using the documents presented by the Customer and each driver. The Lessor cannot access copies of driving licences and identity documents uploaded by Customers on IJAROC, and IJAROC does not send those copies to the Lessor for these checks. The Customer must present authentic, valid documents. IJAROC’s checks do not relieve the Lessor of these checks. The Lessor also completes the rental contract and condition reports. IJAROC does not require the driving licence to have been held for any minimum period. Additional drivers are always free of charge. The second driver must be over 20 years old and hold a valid driving licence authorizing them to drive the vehicle in Morocco throughout the rental, with no minimum licence-holding period required by IJAROC. They must be declared to the Lessor before driving. The Lessor agrees to accept additional drivers who meet these conditions, check their documents and list them in the rental contract, without charging any extra fee.
  • Deliver the exact vehicle selected on IJAROC and confirmed in the booking, clean, roadworthy and matching the listing. Any replacement before handover requires the Customer’s prior written agreement under the procedure in this charter.
  • Before the Customer commits, disclose the deposit amount and arrangements, fuel and cleaning rules, charges or their calculation method, and insurance, assistance and return conditions. Record these in the contract without adding charges that were not accepted.
  • Respect customers, protect their personal data and avoid discriminatory or abusive conduct.
  • Before and after every rental, at vehicle handover and return, the Lessor and the Customer must each take photos and record a video showing the fuel level, dashboard, interior, exterior and cleanliness of the vehicle, in addition to the condition reports completed together. The Customer must inspect the vehicle on both occasions and report any defect, damage or difference to the Lessor. Missing photos or a video do not prevent the Customer from presenting other evidence or exercising legal remedies.
  • Make the vehicle documents needed for road use available to the Customer: registration certificate, proof of insurance and roadworthiness inspection where required. They must be valid and match the vehicle handed over. Allow checking before departure and correct any discrepancy; the Customer’s check does not transfer responsibility for document compliance to the Customer.

The Lessor prepares the rental contract, obtains the Customer’s signature, signs it and gives the Customer a copy. The contract is concluded directly between them. IJAROC does not generate, sign or manage rental contracts.

In the event of a late return, the Customer contacts the Lessor to agree on return arrangements and discuss any charges. These may be paid directly to the Lessor against a receipt or be the subject of a claim against the deposit managed by IJAROC. The Lessor must submit this substantiated claim within 3 hours after the scheduled booking end, even if the vehicle has not yet been returned. The claims procedure applies, including the Customer’s 24-hour period to respond in writing before any deduction decision. An amount already paid directly cannot be deducted again; any payment made while the claim is being reviewed must be reported to IJAROC. The Lessor reports every direct payment of these charges to IJAROC and retains the receipt.

Lateness is assessed against the end date and time scheduled in the booking. For a delay of at least 24 hours, the charge is the rental’s daily rate stated in the booking multiplied by the duration of the delay, rounded up to the next half-day: each started 12-hour period counts as half a day. Thus, a delay of 24 hours is billed as 1 day, 26 hours as 1.5 days and 37 hours as 2 days. For a delay of less than 24 hours, the Customer and the Lessor agree on any charges. The applicable amount is confirmed in writing, including by email or WhatsApp, before payment or a claim against the deposit. The late-return billing rules and calculation method must be disclosed to the Customer before booking.

A Customer wishing to extend the rental requests the Lessor’s agreement before the scheduled end. Additional days are agreed and paid for directly with the Lessor. Before the Customer commits, the Lessor confirms in writing the vehicle’s availability, the new end date and time, the total price of the additional days and the applicable conditions. The Customer and the Lessor update and sign the rental contract or an amendment; IJAROC does not manage that contract. The Lessor reports the extension to IJAROC and updates the vehicle’s availability. A period covered by an expressly agreed extension does not incur late-return charges in addition to the price of that extension for the same period.

Payment and the security deposit (called “franchise” on the site) for the extension are agreed directly between the Customer and the Lessor. The Lessor manages that deposit and its return under the conditions agreed before the extension. IJAROC does not collect payment for those additional days or manage their deposit. The extension does not extend the deposit managed by IJAROC for the initial booking: the 3-hour claim deadline and the deadline for requesting release within 48 hours remain calculated from the end date and time of that initial booking, subject to the handling of a timely claim under the procedure set out in these terms.

The Customer must return the vehicle’s interior and exterior in the same state of cleanliness as at handover: a vehicle handed over clean must be returned clean. The Customer carries out any necessary cleaning before return. The comparison is based on the handover and return inspection reports and photographs, without excluding other evidence. Cleaning charges may only be claimed to remedy a substantiated difference in cleanliness, under the conditions and rate or calculation method disclosed and accepted before booking. They cannot cover dirt already present at handover. Any claim against a deposit managed by IJAROC follows the claims procedure in these terms, including the Lessor’s deadline of 3 hours after the scheduled booking end and the Customer’s 24-hour period for a written response after the claim email is sent.

The Customer and authorized drivers must not modify the vehicle, tinker with it or carry out technical work on their own initiative, or dismantle, replace, remove or take away its parts, equipment or accessories belonging to the Lessor. These must be returned with the vehicle. Authorized repairs and part replacements follow the procedure below.

In the event of a breakdown or incident requiring work, the Customer contacts the Lessor before having the vehicle repaired or a part replaced. Such work may only take place with the Lessor’s prior written agreement, including by email or WhatsApp, specifying the authorized work and who will bear its cost. The Customer keeps that agreement and the supporting documents for the work. This authorization does not permit other modifications or allow the Customer to keep the Lessor’s parts or equipment. These rules do not prevent urgent measures necessary for people’s safety or limit rights under applicable law.

The Lessor determines for each vehicle whether smoking on board is permitted or prohibited. The Lessor informs the Customer of this smoking or non-smoking status and the associated rules before booking and includes them in the rental contract. The Customer, additional drivers and passengers must comply with the rules disclosed and accepted in this way, subject to any prohibitions imposed by applicable regulations. Permission to smoke does not remove the obligations concerning cleanliness and the return of the vehicle. Any smoking-related cleaning charges must be disclosed before booking and substantiated; any claim against a deposit managed by IJAROC remains subject to the claims procedure set out in these terms.

The Lessor determines for each vehicle whether animals are allowed and under what conditions. Before booking, the Lessor informs the Customer of any restrictions, required protective measures and any applicable surcharge or calculation method, then includes those conditions in the rental contract. The Customer complies with the disclosed and accepted conditions as well as the vehicle’s safety and cleanliness rules. Rights granted by applicable law to people accompanied by an assistance animal remain protected. Any cleaning or restoration charge must be substantiated and handled under the cleanliness, liability and claims rules set out in these terms.

At the initial handover, the Lessor must provide the exact vehicle selected by the Customer on IJAROC and confirmed in the booking. If the Lessor cannot provide it, the Lessor informs the Customer and IJAROC in writing as soon as this becomes known. Any replacement requires the Customer’s prior, express written agreement after disclosure of the proposed vehicle’s characteristics and the applicable conditions. The Customer’s silence or a merely verbal agreement is not sufficient. The notification and any replacement agreement, including by email or WhatsApp, are retained and sent to IJAROC for booking follow-up.

For a replacement accepted at the initial handover, the Customer and the Lessor agree directly on any price adjustment. The amount, method and deadline for paying or returning the difference are expressly agreed in writing before the replacement is accepted. They settle this difference directly between them, with proof of payment. IJAROC does not set this adjustment, collect it or refund it. The written agreement is sent to IJAROC for booking follow-up. No surcharge may be imposed without the Customer’s express agreement. This arrangement does not override any applicable legal obligation to provide a replacement at no extra charge or to reduce the price.

When a replacement is accepted at the initial handover and the IJAROC booking is retained, the rental amount recorded on the Platform and the associated deposit amount remain those of the original booking. A price difference agreed and settled directly between the Customer and the Lessor changes neither those amounts nor the deposit managed by IJAROC. The written agreement identifies the replacement vehicle and expressly confirms that this deposit is retained for that vehicle. Retaining it remains subject to a valid authorization and the payment provider’s conditions. Changing the vehicle does not extend the authorization’s validity or change the claim or release deadlines set out in these terms.

If the parties choose to cancel the IJAROC booking because the vehicle is unavailable at the initial handover, IJAROC requests release of the deposit it manages and makes the full refund provided for this unavailability, without retaining delivery travel costs. A cancelled booking cannot keep its deposit with IJAROC to secure a rental arranged directly between the parties. The actual availability of released funds depends on the payment provider and the Customer’s bank. These arrangements do not limit the Customer’s mandatory rights.

The Lessor sends the Customer directly and without delay any fine notices and toll supporting documents relating to use of the vehicle during the rental, including those received after it ends. The Lessor provides the notice or statement references, the vehicle concerned, the date and time where available, the amount and the payment or dispute procedures. Only the substantiated amount of the fine or toll actually owed by the Customer may be requested from them, without duplicate payment. The Lessor may not add any processing, administration, management or forwarding fees, even if the Lessor’s contract or own terms provide for them. A fine remains attributable to the person legally responsible for it.

The Lessor completes the formalities required of them with the authorities or toll operator, including identifying the driver concerned where the applicable procedure requires it; forwarding the notice to the Customer does not replace these steps. The Customer or driver concerned retains their rights to challenge the charge and pays amounts due to the authorized recipient. IJAROC does not manage, advance, collect or recover these fines or tolls and does not bear their cost. These requests fall outside its deposit claims procedure: they do not give rise to any deduction from a deposit managed by IJAROC or justify extending its hold. This allocation does not remove IJAROC’s own obligations imposed by law.

06

Controls, suspension and updates

Ijaroc may verify submitted information, request supporting evidence and restrict a profile or vehicle when these commitments, platform rules or applicable law are not respected.

  • Cooperate with reasonable verification, incident and dispute reviews.
  • Correct inaccurate information or non-compliance within the period communicated by Ijaroc.
  • Accept that serious, repeated or fraudulent breaches may result in suspension or removal from the platform.

Ijaroc may update this charter. The version published on this page applies from its stated update date.

07

Security deposit and claims

IJAROC is responsible for its own obligations concerning the Platform and the operations it undertakes, in accordance with applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit liabilities or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  • The security deposit, called “franchise” on the website, is an authorized amount securing the Customer’s obligations. It is separate from an insurance excess. The Lessor sets its amount and conditions and discloses them before the Customer commits.
  • IJAROC offers deposit management for rentals scheduled to last no more than 25 days. The actual hold period depends on the provider and payment method: the 25-day threshold does not guarantee a bank hold of that length.
  • For rentals longer than 25 days, or if IJAROC cannot obtain a valid authorization, the Lessor must arrange and collect the deposit directly from the Customer before handover, under the arrangements disclosed before booking. The Lessor manages and returns it, checks the deposit status and must not request a second guarantee for the same obligations while a valid deposit is already held.
  • To request a deduction from a deposit managed by IJAROC, the Lessor must submit a claim within 3 hours of the end date and time scheduled in the booking, even if the vehicle is returned late. The claim must identify the booking, reason, amount requested and available evidence, by email to [email protected], WhatsApp or the contact form. IJAROC will not deduct funds for a claim received after this deadline; the parties may address it directly while respecting their legal rights.
  • If no claim is received within this period, IJAROC requests release after the 3-hour claim window has closed and no later than 48 hours after the scheduled booking end. When the funds become available then depends on the payment provider and the Customer’s bank.
  • If a claim is received within 3 hours, IJAROC emails the Customer the reason, amount claimed and supporting evidence. The Customer has 24 hours from the sending of that email to respond in writing. IJAROC also attempts telephone contact; any observations must be confirmed in writing. No deduction is decided before the response period expires.
  • While a timely claim is reviewed, release may be deferred beyond 48 hours only for the time needed for that review and within the payment authorization’s validity period. The 24-hour response period does not mean automatic release when it ends. IJAROC reviews the available evidence and communicates a reasoned decision. An approaching authorization expiry does not, by itself, justify a charge.
  • Any deduction must be supported by evidence and the conditions accepted before booking, including for damage, missing fuel or chargeable cleaning. Only the justified amount is charged, up to the authorized deposit; the balance is released. The Customer’s silence is neither consent nor acknowledgment of a debt. IJAROC’s decision and the 3-hour claim deadline do not remove legal remedies.

For a confirmed rental whose deposit is managed by IJAROC, IJAROC attempts an automatic authorization 24 hours before the scheduled start, for the deposit amount accepted at booking. This attempt requires the Customer’s prior, specific agreement to use their payment method for this purpose and support for the operation by the provider. This is a hold on funds, with no charge at this stage.

If the attempt fails, automatic authorization is unavailable or Customer approval is needed, IJAROC sends an email at that time with a link to authorize the deposit. If authorization is still outstanding, a reminder is sent 2 hours before the scheduled rental start. The Customer must check their emails and complete the requested approval before vehicle handover.

For a booking accepted less than 24 hours before departure, this process starts as soon as the Lessor accepts and the email is sent without delay if Customer action is needed. If acceptance occurs less than 2 hours before departure, this immediate email replaces the scheduled reminder. These timings do not apply to deposits taken directly by the Lessor.

IJAROC support is available to Customers and Lessors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by email at [email protected], by WhatsApp on +212 7 54 37 62 51 or through the website’s contact form. For Customer complaints that do not concern the security deposit, IJAROC undertakes to respond in writing within a maximum of 48 hours of receipt, including weekends and public holidays. Complaints concerning the security deposit follow the specific procedure and deadlines set out in these terms.

08

Payments in euros and transfers in Moroccan dirhams

Customers pay for bookings on IJAROC in euros (EUR). IJAROC pays the amounts due to Lessors in Moroccan dirhams (MAD, also written DH). Conversion applies to the net amount due to the Lessor after deduction of the applicable commission.

The rate applied to payments to Lessors remains fixed at EUR 1 = MAD 10, including when the market exchange rate exceeds MAD 10 for EUR 1. Increases in the market exchange rate do not change the amount paid to the Lessor.

IJAROC guarantees a fixed conversion rate of EUR 1 = MAD 10 as long as the EUR/MAD exchange rate remains at or above MAD 9.50 for EUR 1. This threshold represents a 5% decrease from MAD 10. The fixed rate remains guaranteed when the exchange rate is exactly MAD 9.50 for EUR 1.

Amounts due for rentals in a given month are paid to Lessors between the 1st and 5th of the following month, after deducting the applicable commission. For example, amounts due for January rentals are paid between 1 and 5 February.

This charter complements the Terms of Use and the Terms and Conditions of Rental.
